Apple has admitted that a bunch of its iPhone 5 models mayhave a faulty on/off/lock button that could stop working at any moment. As such, a free repair service has been created specifically to handle this problem. It went live in Australia on the 2nd of May 2014, and is also available in a large range of countries.
The repair service doesnt extend beyond the range of anormal 2-year manufacturers warranty, which should cover manufacturing faultslike a faulty button anyway. The only way the faulty button service appears to bespecial is in its speed. You should have your phone returned to you or readyfor pickup within 4-6 days of it reaching the repair center. You can eithermail your iPhone 5 in directly or take it to your local Apple Store, from whereitll be forwarded to the closest Apple Repair Center.
